Name: Molly Burrow
Position: Senior Accounting Assistant
When did you join AACE? 2016
Why do you do what you do, professionally?
I was in Nursing School in 1987 when I had a terrible car accident and shattered my right ankle. My doctor told me I would never be able to stand on my feet for hours at a time so I took a job at a local bank in the loan department. It was then that I discovered my love of all things accounting.
What do you enjoy most about working at AACE?
The employees of AACE HQ are good people who are always ready to lend a hand or help in any way. They have all laughed with me, cried with me, been excited with me and it makes the work environment great! I also enjoy meeting and working with Board members, section members, leaders and everyone who is associated with AACE!
Tell us about your interests, family, and/or a fun fact!
I have five children and seven grandchildren and when I am not chasing one of them around, my husband and I ride motorcycles! We have a great group of friends we ride with. We have seen great sights and feasted on wonderful food from The Finger Lakes in New York to Hillbilly Hotdogs in Lesage West Virginia to The Back Porch in Destin Florida.
One of my favorite rides was a 9/11 Artifact escort run. We rode with New York, Maryland, and West Virginia State Troopers and a tractor trailer carrying two beams from the 9/11 disaster to a museum.
We take part in the Rolling Thunder demonstration run in Washington, DC every year to raise awareness of POW/MIA’s still unaccounted for from the Vietnam War. In 2017, the 30th anniversary ride saw over 1,000,000 motorcycles!
I also lived overseas in the early 80’s. I was in Stuttgart, Germany when the Chernobyl disaster happened and the La Belle Discotheque in West Berlin was bombed.
