About Source

Welcome to Source in its new online format. Published by AACE International, the authority for Total Cost Management, Source is intended to be a site where both AACE members and nonmembers can come to read posts that will keep you updated on the latest AACE news. To accomplish this, Source will be updated as news happens. Users are encouraged to check in daily or weekly to see if new content has been posted or to spend time reviewing and reading articles you may not have had time to work through on a prior visit. Most of the existing features of the prior pdf version of Source will continue to be a part of this new online format. Check out the latest postings, give us comments on what you like and what changes you would like to see as we move forward.

Here is an Overview of Source Content

  • Bonus Technical Article—Within our sister publication, the Cost Engineering journal, per year we only have space to publish some 18 of the top-rated Conference & Expo technical papers. This leaves a wealth of high scoring papers and we have picked up a bonus technical article into Source. With our new format, we hope to expand and bring readers additional bonus technical articles.
  • Member Profiles—The Source will continue to promote members who are being honored with a profile posting as the Rising Professional and/or the Women in Project Controls honoree.  The profiles generally highlight how these members became a part of AACE, what their work and education experience has been and is, and what advice they have for others new to AACE or looking to become a part of the association.
  • President’s Message— At least initially, the President’s Message is anticipated to continue to be posted as a bi-monthly update. The new format offers the option for the President, Board Members, or the Executive Director/CEO to have the option to add posts anytime the Board has news they want to share with the membership and/or those who follow AACE.
  • Section News— The AACE Sections should like the new Source format as publication of monthly section events and meetings will not have to wait for the next issue but will be able to be edited and posted within days of submission. Upcoming events will not be announced in Source but will be directed to the new Communities Calendar page at the AACE website.
  • Source Extra—This new section will be where articles of interest that do not fall specifically under one of the established categories can be posted. We will also continue to post In Memoriams when we learn of the passing of AACE members.
  • TEC Board Columns—The Technical, Education and Certification Boards also will continue to provide Source content. Established readers/users are familiar with the popular one-page articles from the Technical Board on a variety of subjects covering the various AACE industry categories. The Education Board is working to expand online learning options and educational offerings and can alert you to these as they are scheduled. The bi-monthly Certification News explains changes and updates with each of AACE’s specialty certifications, study materials, etc., and this information will continue to be posted.
