AACE is pleased to recognize the following award winners:
Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL), King County Washington Wastewater Treatment Division, Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) – Industry Appreciation Award
Industry Appreciation Award: The Industry Appreciation Award is presented to a company or organization that have rendered exceptional support to the total cost management or cost engineering profession and to AACE International’s aims and objectives. This is the only award AACE bestows on a company/organization. This Award is not based on recognition of financial contributions to AACE. The employers of members of the sitting Awards Committee and the sitting Board of Directors are not eligible for nomination or receipt of this Award. Other professional associations as either complimentary to or in competition with AACE are not eligible for receipt of this Award.
Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) – The CNRL is an effective and efficient operator with a diversified portfolio of assets in North America, the UK North Sea, and Offshore Africa, which enables the CNRL to generate significant value, even during challenging economic environments. The CNRL’s balanced mix of natural gas, light crude oil, heavy crude oil, bitumen, and synthetic crude oil represents one of the strongest and most diversified asset portfolios of any independent energy producer in the world. The company has completed its transition to a long life low decline asset base through the development of its Horizon oil sands mine and acquisition of Athabasca Oil Sands Project, its vast thermal in situ opportunities, and the expansion of its world-class polymer flood project at Pelican Lake. This transition formed the basis of the company’s sustainable free cash flow. CNRL’s financial discipline, commitment to a strong balance sheet, and capacity to generate adjusted funds flow provide the company with the means to grow their company in the long term.
King County Washington Wastewater Treatment Division – The King County Wastewater Treatment Division not only operates around-the-clock to sustain a healthy environment for their region, it is a vital infrastructure support for the economic development that enables their region to thrive. King County is committed to recovering and reusing the products of wastewater treatment process. Beneficially recycling and treated water and nutrient-rich biosolids and recovering energy from waste gases increases the efficiency of their wastewater treatment plants, conserves resources, protects the environment, and saves money.
Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) – In 1973, the PTDF was established for the training of Nigerians to qualify as graduates, professionals, technicians, and craftsmen in the field of engineering, geology, science, and management in the petroleum sector. The PTDF provides scholarships and bursaries, wholly or partially, in universities, colleges, and institutions and in petroleum undertakings. They maintain, supplement, or subsidize such training and education as well as make suitable endowments to faculties in Nigerian universities, colleges, or institutions. Additionally, the PTDF sponsors regular or necessary visits to oil fields, refineries, petro-chemical plants, and arranges for any necessary attachments of personnel to establish connections with the development of the petroleum industry in Nigeria.
