AACE Election Results Announced
Shoshanna Fraizinger, CCP will be President-Elect and Mark C. Sanders, PE CCP CFCC PSP elected to serve as AACE Secretary; proposed Constitution & Bylaws amendment passes
Winners are being announced in the recent AACE International annual election for seats on the Board of Directors, as well as Regional Directors.
President-Elect
Shoshanna Fraizinger, CCP, will be returning to the board as President-Elect. This will be a three-year commitment, serving in 2021-2022 as President-Elect, then as President for 2022-2023, and a year as Past President for 2023-2024.
Shoshanna has been an active member of AACE International since 2014. She has participated and contributed to AACE in several different ways through the years, from membership in several technical sub-committees and special interest groups to obtaining her CCP in 2017. Drawing on her project management and project controls experience working for contractors and consultants and owners primarily in the Canadian Nuclear industry, she has authored and presented 5 papers on varying topics in estimating, planning and scheduling, and owner issues and is a primary coauthor for a recommended practice in review. She currently sits on the Board of Directors representing the Education Board while also serving as Education Board Chair. On the Education Board she further contributes to AACE’s Online Learning Initiatives. She is most proud of initiating the Bruce County Section in 2018 and serving as its President. She has participated in the T/E/C alignment group which has seen positive returns for all the associate boards. This collaboration has streamlined volunteer efforts and is ensuring that board activities support and enhance each other in a lock-step fashion. Prior to beginning her term as President-Elect, Shoshanna will resign her position on the Education Board. Shoshanna is a Project Associate at Sargent & Lundy. She and her family live Kincardine, Ontario, Canada.
All remaining positions serve two-year terms.
AACE Secretary
Mark C. Sanders, PE CCP CFCC PSP was elected to serve as Secretary.
Mark joined AACE International in 2001. He is a past President and Treasurer of the Delaware Valley Section. He currently serves on the Certification Board, a position from which he will resign prior to his term on the AACE Board of Directors. He has contributed to RPs 25R-03 and 29R-03, and he is currently working on the project to update RP 29R-03. Mark has spoken frequently at the Conference & Expo and at sections in the United States, Brazil, Colombia, India, and Peru. He holds AACE certifications: CCP (2003); CFCC (2012); and PSP (2005). Mark is the Director of Projects at Alpha 3 Consulting, LLC. He and his family live near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Proposed Constitution & Bylaws Amendment Passes
The membership voted in favor of the proposed Constitution & Bylaws amendment which, among other changes, consolidated the two documents into a singular Bylaws. This change will take effect prior to the Board of Directors 2021-2022 terms of office. The update to this AACE International governance document will allow the organization to operate more efficiently to better engage with existing and prospective members. There will be an increased clarity and transparency on how AACE operates and serves its members. With this change, the governing documents of AACE International will now be the Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, and the Policy and Procedure Manual.
The Board of Directors will now be comprised of a minimum of nine (9) and a maximum of eleven (11) voting members including:
- President
- President-Elect
- Past President
- Secretary (formerly VP-Administration)
- Treasurer (formerly VP-Finance)
- Technical Board Director (as appointed by the Technical Board members)
- Education Board Director (as appointed by the Education Board members)
- Certification Board Director (as appointed by the Certification Board members)
- At Large Director(s) (not less than one, but no more than three)
- Executive Director/CEO (non-voting member of the Board)
Five Elected as Regional Directors to serve on the Membership Advisory Committee
Each Regional Director will serve as a liaison between the AACE Sections, within their respective Regions, and the Membership Advisory Committee. Newly elected or reelected to terms this year will be:
- Region 3: Eric G. Cannon, PSP
- Region 5: John Armstrong, PSP
- Region 6: Dr. Nour El Imane Bouhou, PSP
- Region 8: Sankar Subrahmaniyam, EVP
- Region 10: Piero G. Anticona, CCP
Eric G. Cannon, PSP became a member and certified as a PSP in 2008. He has been re-elected to the position of Director: Region 3. Eric is a Scheduling Director at Moss. He lives in the Fort Lauderdale, FL.
John Armstrong, PSP joined AACE and earned the PSP certification in 2016. He is a Director at Civic CM in the Phoenix, AZ.
Dr. Nour El Imane Bouhou, PSP joined AACE in 2017. In 2019, Nour earned the PSP designation. She is a Partner and Vice President at Peritia Partners, LLC in San Francisco, CA.
Sankar Subrahmaniyam, EVP joined AACE in 2012 and earned the certification EVP certification in 2013. He has been re-elected to the position of Director: Region 8. Sankar is the Chief Operating Officer at Karle Infra in Bangalore, India.
Piero G. Anticona, CCP joined AACE in 2010 having already obtained the certification designation CCP in 2009. Piero is a Senior Project Controller at Analítica Estratégica in Lima, Peru.
All elected Board of Directors and Regional Directors will officially begin their terms of office in June 2021.
