Rising Professional Spotlight –
Ashutosh Ade, CCP PSP
Work History and Professional Evolution
My professional journey is defined by a successful transition across three distinct pillars of the built environment, allowing me to bring a multidisciplinary perspective to every project:
- Architecture and Design Foundations: I began my career as a licensed architect in India, where I founded and managed a consulting firm specializing in design-build execution. This background provides me with a deep technical and design foundation that informs me of my current work in project oversight. This journey demonstrates my unique ability to bridge the gap between technical design insight and rigorous oversight of project control.
- Construction Management: I successfully pivoted into construction management in the US, serving as a program scheduler and owner’s representative for a large-scale institutional program worth $650M.
- Project Controls Leadership: I currently contribute to the gas transmission and storage PMO for SoCal Gas, as a senior project controls scheduler.
Industry-Leading Credentials and Volunteer work with AACE
I have validated my expertise by securing the most rigorous certifications in the industry and remain dedicated to giving back to the professional community:
- Rapid Certification Timeline: Demonstrating a high level of discipline and professional drive, I achieved all my top-tier industry certifications – AACE’s CCP and PSP, alongside PMI’s PMP and PMI-SP – within a condensed three-year period. This rapid professional development, paired with my master’s in construction management, underscores my discipline and drive to lead in project controls.
- AACE Volunteer grader: To give back to the association and support the growth of the profession, I actively contribute as a volunteer grader for AACE’s CCP memos.
- Technical Education: I hold a master’s degree in construction management from the University of Texas at Arlington and a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Mumbai.
Personal History
Outside of my professional commitments, I am a dedicated golfer. Much like my work in project controls, I enjoy the sport for its emphasis on precision, strategic foresight, and the continuous pursuit of incremental improvement. Whether on the course or managing a capital program, I remain focused on maintaining strategic oversight and driving successful outcomes.
