AACE Seattle Section hosted a technical session titled “Optimizing and Accelerating Capital Projects with AI"
On August 14, the AACE Seattle Section hosted a technical session titled “Optimizing and Accelerating Capital Projects with AI,” led by capital project strategist John Rewolinski, PSP. The presentation centered on using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in large-scale program delivery. Rewolinski demonstrated two platforms ALICE Technologies and Doxel, outlining how they accelerate schedules, optimize resources, and support data-driven decision-making in high-speed environments like data centers.
John Rewolinski is a seasoned professional in the construction industry with deep expertise in project controls and scheduling. He specializes in applying advanced technologies, including AI tools, to optimize and accelerate large-scale capital projects for major clients like Google, Microsoft, and DPR. His work spans data centers, hospitals, and heavy-civil projects, where he has achieved measurable reductions in both schedule and cost.
Rewolinski walked through the lifecycle of AI integration—from data inputs and process flows to timing and management checkpoints—showing how these tools translate complex analytics into actionable strategies. The session highlighted a clear framework for incorporating AI into project workflows to improve cost, schedule, and strategic planning performance. John emphasized how AI could enhance project forecasting accuracy, strengthen cost management capabilities, and improve schedule reliability.
The session concluded with a thought-provoking discussion on how AI could be integrated into active and future projects. Participants left excited about the opportunities AI platforms bring to project controls.
