Are You Interested in Becoming an Micro-Volunteer With the Education Board?
By Shoshanna Fraizinger, CCP
Vice President, Education, AACE Board of Directors
Did you know that 57% of members who responded to the 2019-member value survey indicated the need for virtual, on-demand professional training and 52% indicate positive feedback for virtual, on-demand certification training?
To meet this demand, the Education Board has set the goal to develop an online training program for Certified Cost Professional (CCP) certification by 2022. The remaining three professional level certifications – Certified Estimating Professional (CEP), Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) and Earned Value Professional (EVP) – would follow.
In addition, the Education Board is working on several ongoing and planned education-based initiatives including:
- Integrated gap analysis and alignment of AB products related to skills and knowledge certification competencies in conjunction with the Certification and Technical Associate Boards.
- Webinars and seminars supporting the virtual and live conferences and other community initiatives
- Development of a new S&K7 to incorporate updated and new recommended practices
- Undergraduate and postgraduate cost engineering program curriculum development
These are aggressive objectives given the current volunteer resources and the Education Board is actively recruiting members to support any of these initiatives and are asking your support to share this call for volunteers with your section and corporate members.
Those who are interested in becoming a micro-volunteer for the development and update of our Cost Engineering educational products and materials, are asked to please contact any of the following Education Board representatives:
- Teri Jefferson – Headquarters Staff Liaison, Education Board (tjefferson@aacei.org)
- Marina Sominsky – Vice-Chair, Education Board (EdChair@aacei.org)
- Shoshanna Fraizinger, VP Education, AACE Board of Directors (VPEdBoard@aacei.org)
As part of their participation with the Education Board’s Online Learning Subcommittee or Gap Analysis Review volunteers are able to earn up to 3 CEUs per our association’s Volunteer CEU criteria. Additionally, their contribution will be recognized on AACE International’s website and in the course material. They may also reference this recognition as part of their industry or academic professional development and as part of their work performance evaluations.
We look forward to hearing from you.
